September 12, 2010- Three Days of "The Kyron Gift"

It's Kyron's 8th birthday- September 9, 2010. We are giving Kyron The Gift Of Coming Home. We have spent the past 24 hours getting ready to jump in our rented car and travel to the California border. We plan to stop in and visit truck stops and rest stops and pass out what we call "The Kyron Gift"... a gift package consisting of a flyer, a name tag, (home made) and a book marker of "The Kyron Code". Our goal is to find travelers from other states or areas and pass out Kyron's information, let them know Kyron is missing, and leave them with gifts that will help them help us find Kyron. We want to ask each traveler we find to remember Kyron in their travels and look for him. We will talk to them about using "The Kyron Code" if they think they may see Kyron.

We copied out "The Kyron Code" from our sister site, Kyron's Newsletter,
and we glued it onto a piece of construction paper. That piece of construction paper was then glued onto a cut out piece of poster board. We then laminated the book marker, punched a whole in the top and passed a ribbon through the hole.

Our Kyron Gifts Name Tags are made of the very same things mentioned above with the exception of lamination. We copied out a photo of a Kyron Creation card designed online by us.. then we glued that photo to a piece of poster board. Next, we placed this card inside of plasic name tags purchased in our local dollar store. We bought red confetti hearts that glitter, and placed some hearts on the bottom of the (inside) name tag and glued the sides together. The final steps, punch a whole in the top and place ribbon through the whole so one can wear as a necklace. (The confetti helps the name tag glitter in the sun)..

These two gifts along with a flyer of Kyron will be given as gifts to all travelers we come across in our efforts who are willing to accept them and help us find Kyron.

We encourage you to be creative and create- create fun and interesting name tags, book markers, and other projects to pass out and help Kyron come home. We have discovered may useful craft products in our dollar stores including templets, poster boards, and even poster boards that open just like Kyron's science fair project. We thought, at one point, it might be good to recreate Kyron's science fair project using the red-eyed tree frog and use that as a name tag too. All kinds of sparkling items can be purchased to help our name tags and other projects stand out in the sun.

Kyron Creations is all about finding new and creative ways to help in an organized Search Effort across the United States, Mexico, and Canada for Finding Kyron Horman. Kyron Horman has been missing from Portland, Oregon since June 4, 2010.

Everyone has creativity- and everyone can think of at least one way to create and make a Finding Kyron item that will send out the message that we are looking for Kyron and trying to bring Kyron home.

That is what Kyron Creations is all about. So far we have some interesting ideas.

1. Vistaprint.com is easy and affordable. Creating a lawn sigh, a window decal, a car door magnet, post cards, and envelopes are most often free through Vistaprint. All you pay is postage. We suggest you sign up for a free account with Vistaprint and opt in for their offers. Most often, you will receive certificates for free items. Take advantage of these free items and purchase your idea about advertising our Finding Kyron Search Efforts.

2. Stamps.com helps you make personalized postage stamps. You can create a Finding Kyron postage stamp to go on your Vistaprint envelopes. Send the news of Finding Kyron through the U.S. Mail system.

3. Help us circulate our Finding Kyron EBook.. it is free, all we need is your Email address. You can also help us circulate our Finding Kyron Email Alert Message. Simply email us at kyroncreations@gmx.com. Add in the subject line, Email Alert and we will know what you are looking for.

4. Create and make personalized Finding Kyron name tags that can be used with a pin or ribbon for wearing around your neck. Hopefully, you can make a few extra and pass them out. Ribbon and supplies can be purchased through your local dollar store. Most of us are making these from construction paper. We are using the plastic name tag holders and using a paper punch for a hole at the top to slip ribbon through for a necklace, however, you can add a pin if you like.. A sample photo of a name tag I am creating is on this site to the right hand side.

5. Memorize our "Kyron Code".. this is for anyone who thinks they may see Kyron somewhere at some time.

6. If you own a business, you can have a banner posted outside of your business or inside of your business. Usually Vistaprint.com will offer a free small banner, you pay postage only. We highly encourage all business owners to put up these Missing Kyron banners, they are easy to read from far away as people drive by.

7. Take part in our Finding Kyron Surveys if someone calls you. This is important to finding Kyron- extremely important. Please do take part.

The Following statement is a copy of our Finding Kyron Email Alert. We are sending this alert out with every possible outgoing email and asking the receivers to pass this along and/or copy it and add it to their outgoing email. We feel this Email alert will aid in the search for Kyron- and help people stay in touch with us concerning the search efforts for Kyron Horman. We also have what we call "The Kyron Code" to go along with this Email Alert. "The Kyron Code" can be seen to the right of this web page. "The Kyron Code" is for everyone who thinks they may see a child that could be Kyron.

We have a website set up specifically for Active Search Effort information to the public. If and when we know of an active search effort, we will post that effort to Kyron's Newsletter website.

Kyron Horman is missing. Kyron went missing from Skyline Elementary School, Portland, Oregon on June 4, 2010 somewhere between 9:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M. Kyron has blue eyes and brown hair. Kyron wears fairly thick glasses and his adult teeth were just starting to come in. Kyron weighs approximately 50 pounds and stands 3' 8" tall. Kyron Creations Necklace Badge and Book Markers

As we go about passing out information about Kyron's case, we have been handing out a buffet of gifts- gifts that help people remember to be on the look out for Kyron anywhere at any time. "The Kyron Code" book markers, help people save Kyron's information at the forefront of their mind if they think they spot Kyron. It's a code of simple questions to ask any child that you think may be Kyron. The answers to that code are answers that ONLY Kyron can answer. (Memorizing "The Kyron Code" is a good idea) no matter how familiar we are with Kyron's ongoing case.

THE KYRON CODE BOOK MARKERS- are simple. Just copy and paste "The Kyron Code" onto your word document, and fine tune your font and font size to fit your pre-measured book marker paper product. Print out your Kyron Code and paste it onto your prepared book marker project and laminate. Punch a whole in the top of your book marker and slip a piece of beautiful ribbon through the whole, and tie off.

We have been using normal poster board for our book markers with "The Kyron Code". We purchased our poster board in our local dollar store or craft store.

KYRON CREATION NECKLACE BADGE- We created our Kyron Creation necklace badge to give out to people in the general public. This lets people know that we are looking and searching for Kyron. We purchased normal plastic name tag holders at our local dollar store. We copied a picture, created by us, on a piece of normal white bond paper and glued that photo onto construction paper for weight. We bought small red confetti glittering hearts, purchased at a dollar store. We sprinkled a few hearts in the name tag holder after inserting our photo project. This helps our necklace shine in the sunlight and draw attention to our message.

As we hand out our home made Kyron Creation pamphlets, we also hand out a necklace badge and a book marker. All of the information for finding Kyron is located on one or more of these projects so people in the public can read at-a-glance all about Kyron. Our contact information is included on all projects along with a "Our Home Is A Lighthouse For Kyron" flyer, also created by us. We believe this helps the public stay alert to finding Kyron and it promotes the "saving" of Kyron's information vs reading the flyers and throwing them away.

We are hearing via email from lots of people who now say they remember to wear their glittering necklace everywhere they go.. and in turn, they too are taking part of making a home project gift assortment for helping in our search for Kyron.

Kyron Pamphlets- Home Made

Suggestion by Betty and Frank, So. California-

Passing out flyers in the form of an informational pamphlet. (Instructions)

Supplies:

Glue Sticks, Stapler and Staples, Your Choice of Colorful Paper (May use construction paper too, sometimes it works best).. we chose to use pre-watermarked paper with crayons. A copy of "The Kyron Code" in small print and book marker style- (just like that which is printed on the right hand side of our page) and a copy of "Finding Kyron Email Alerts" in small print. (Copy and print from a word document) A photo of Kyron and any other photos you may want to use. A copy of Kyron's information such as the tip line phone number or website links etc. Kyron's Missing Persons Flyers.


1. Take your chosen paper and turn it to the back side. Decorate as desired and with your glue sticks, paste any information and photos you want to add.

2. On the front of your paper, add Kyron's photo, a copy of "The Kyron Code" just as you have it printed out and a copy of "Finding Kyron Email Alerts"...

3. Fold the paper in half. Take a copy of Missing Kyron Flyers and fold in half. Place the Missing Kyron Flyer inside of your pamphlet. Staple. (Let glue dry before stapling) Hand out! (Check the right hand side of our site for photos examples of our own pamphlets. Be creative and create your personal "Kyron Creation" pamphlets but after creating, be sure to hand out. We purchased our supplies through a local dollar store except for the glue and stapler. There we purchased items through a local craft store.

Kyron Flyer Informational Card

If you want to create a beautiful and informative back side to your "Missing Kyron Horman" flyers, we have a sample shown here for you. Simply fold in quarters after decorating the back of your flyer with "The Kyron Code" and "Finding Kyron Email Alerts" along with your choice of other information and photography. Use as a small card-handout that opens up to a full- size flyer.


OUR HOME IS A LIGHTHOUSE FOR KYRON- "GIVE KYRON 'THE GIFT OF COMING HOME' "

Kyron Creations, along with "Loving Kyron Group Suggestions" on Facebook, is promoting the idea of volunteering our contact information, names, and states to anyone who desires to learn more about the "Missing Kyron Horman" case. We volunteer to give information such as MCSO website information, Kyron's Search Calendar Online, Kyron's Newsletter Online, The MCSO tip line information and general information into the circumstances of Missing Kyron Horman. We are posting a home made flyer-type notice in our home front windows or on a lawn sign in our front drive ways. This helps our community become aware that we are searching for Kyron and we will gladly take the time to share Kyron's information with those who ask. Some of our friends are now using car door magnets also or along with our window displays. We are using photos of a lighthouse and the motto of: Shedding the light of Kyron's information into the places where Kyron is yet unknown.

We are NOT giving information about the case other than the official information given to us by MCSO press conferences and any active search efforts that we are aware of. We are not a part of the Horman family calendar/planning. The idea of becoming "A Lighthouse" for Kyron has been coined by Kyron Creations .blogspot.com along with "The Kyron Code" and "Finding Kyron Email Alerts"...

Kyron's "Tiny Bear" Gift Handout by Naomi

Naomi wrote to us and sent this "Tiny Bear" cube idea. Naomi bought a package of small plastic see-through photo cubes in a craft store. She also purchased a package of tiny toy bears. Naomi placed a Missing Kyron photo in the cube along with a copy of Finding Kyron Email Alert and "The Kyron Code".. on the back side of the cube she placed a sample (small)copy of "Our Home Is A Lighthouse For Kyron" message and her contact information. Naomi then glued the little bear on the top of Kyron's information cube after creating a tiny necklace badge on the bear. ( necklace badge has a picture of Kyron and his missing persons message. Naomi copied out this message on her word document and in turn copied it out on her home printer.

Naomi is now creating her "Finding Kyron" pamphlets and passing out Kyron's information cubes to people in the public as a part of her efforts to help find Kyron.

Kyron's Travel Kit

WHEN YOU TRAVEL- You will probably be taking a plane, a bus, a boat, or a car/motor home etc. We realize you will most likely be traveling due to pleasure, personal business, or corporate business. You will have a lot on your mind. But, please remember Kyron is missing and Kyron could be anywhere at any time. Kyron could be 3 miles from home, 30 miles from home or 3,000 miles from home. We just don't know.

IN YOUR TRAVELS, PLEASE TAKE KYRON'S TRAVEL KIT AND KYRON'S MAP WITH YOU. PLEASE SPEND TIME MEMORIZING "THE KYRON CODE"...

Please memorize Kyron's photographs and know his personal statistics. If you have time, please remember to hand out your pamphlets, necklaces, and book markers as much as possible(And any other Kyron Creation you have created). Let people know you are "A Lighthouse" for Kyron.

Gift Certificates and Organization

Gift Certificates and Organization- we have a friend who has written to us and let us know she is taking our Kyron Creation suggestions to heart. Wanda says she is making gift certificates and handing them out and then, one day per week, she goes around delivering her Kyron Packages which includes her own pamphlet, data sheet, necklace badge, and photos of Kyron. Wanda tells us her Kyron Data Sheet tells of the history to date on the Kyron case and gives website links to MCSO news briefings. Wanda says her contact information is also included on her Finding Kyron Data Sheets..

Wanda says this system works well for her and helps her children become actively involved in making Kyron Creation crafts and delivering the goods to all who cash in their gift certificates.. what a great idea, Wanda and we thank you very much.

Finding Kyron- Multi- Cultural

Kyron Creations is now involved in a Multi-Cultural Outreach Program for Finding Kyron. We have a new FB page, Kyron Horman Multi-Cultural For Finding Kyron is the name of that page.

We are involved in translating Kyron's Message into English, Spanish, German, Romanian, Russian, and Traditional Chinese at this time. Kyron Creation's Mission is to take our search efforts one step further into the lives of our neighbors who do not speak our language and live in our culture... and help them work with us for one common goal, Finding Kyron Horman...

Kyron Creations (Victoria) is very involved with designing a multi-cultural website for our Facebook page, and bridge the gap of language and culture into one search effort in getting Kyron Home... We are also involved in creating at least one video for each language we have on our FB site- and posting those videos on other foreign language sites... This is all taking time, but we are progressing very well and putting all of our efforts into making finding Kyron a success...

We will post that new website address when the website is published, and we hope you all support our Multi-Cultural Efforts to get Kyron's message out in such a way that all barriers of language and culture are crossed in favor of finding Kyron.. thank you, Victoria

Of course, we all hope Kyron is home for Christmas! But, just in case, Kyron Creations is preparing for a Kyron Christmas, complete with Christmas bulbs and small ornaments that have Kyron's name on them...

Kyron Creations will be handing out a bulb or other small Kyron ornament (1 Per family) during the month before Christmas beginning the day after Thanksgiving.. we want to get Kyron's name on the Christmas trees of the public- to help them remember to continue to search for Kyron during the holidays...

Kyron Creations will be handing out Special Finding Kyron Christmas Flyers with each ornamental gift hand-out... and my tree, (Victoria) will be decorated with Kyron Creations gifts- gifts that will be available as handouts during the month following Christmas...

Bulb/ornament handouts... Instructions:

Purchase a package of Christmas bulbs and snowflakes at your local dollar store. Copy out a sheet of paper that has the name "Kyron" on it in list form as a template.

Cut out the name one at a time and glue onto your ornament/bulb.. pass out! Very easy and inexpensive.. and very beautiful!

P.S. Remember to purchase your ribbon while at the dollar store, and pass your Kyron Ornament out with ribbon for hanging...

Painted on these simple hand out's is a gold cross outlined in gold-leaf/glitter paint and a red rose.. a red heart is located in the center of the rose, and tiny mustard seed in the center of the cross..

These little gems take only a few minutes to make and paint, and they go with me everywhere I go to hand out to the public - asking everyone to listen for and look for Kyron... Victoria

Are You A Stamper?-

For Everyone Who Loves Stamping- You can create a rubber stamp with Kyron's information and photo very easily- stamp all outgoing mail, send in a flyer or other project you intend to share with others in regards to missing Kyron Horman... let everyone know Kyron is missing in your unique way... using your rubber stamp.

Basic Craft Supplies We Found Helpful

Some very basic craft supplies we find helpful- for those of you who may be new to crafting..

1. Glue Sticks- always and a glue gun with glue gun sticks always.. these items are two staples in crafting. For our projects, we suggest the little glue guns and sticks..

2. Optional- but very handy.. stapler and staples-

3. Ribbon- for our projects, small ribbon of various colors. We also use yarn in our projects for children because we want to keep the childhood in our work for children.

4. Small and large whole punchers- could be without them in projects- we use the small whole punch for Kyron's craft projects.

5. Paper- always... we use sturdy paper - letter size. We use all colors, and keep a hardy supply- most of our Kyron creations are created from paper- or a part of our creations that compliment other projects.

6. Color pencils, glitter pens, color crayons... coloring our projects and stenciling our projects.. (stenciling with glitter pens)

7. Acrylic paint- paint brushes and scribbles craft paint- a must! At least for us, this paint is essential as we paint most of our paper projects at some point-

8. Scissors- small and large.. we even use border Scissors.. meaning scissors that cut fancy borders on paper...

9. Optional but handy, templates with letters and children's graphic art for tracing and writing on any surface..

Kyron's Mini Book-

Our message for Kyron's mini book- "Keep Telling Kyron's Story"... keep Kyron's information out in the public and keep looking and listening for Kyron!.. a very simple message, however, the most important message!

Kyron's mini- book comes with a matching night stand mini photo display.. and our message for this.. "Remember To Keep Praying For Kyron"....

Kyron's little mini-book is only about one and one- half inches tall with four tiny pages- (8 readable pages)... and Kyron's matching mini-photo display.. stands just over one inch... very mini.. very large messages! Keep telling Kyron's story, Remember to keep praying for Kyron...

Kyron Creations has drafted a letter of introduction about our mission to find Kyron. This letter of introduction is accompanied by a flyer and photo of Kyron. It gives us an instant connection without having to cross a language barrier when we meet another person from a foreign country.. it is written in German, Spanish, Romanian, Russian, Traditional Chinese.

If anyone wants a copy of this letter, (it's a two-page letter), we will be happy to send it to you via email. All I do is ask the person what language they speak, (If I don't know) and then hand them my letter of introduction. This letter explains our email address and tells them to write us in their own language, and we will interpret and add to our FB site "Kyron Creations- Multi-Cultural For Finding Kyron"..Usually they read the letter, smile and nod.. I have found it helps immensely when trying to communicate our message and mission for finding Kyron to a foreign language speaking individual..
